Technical Fit

Confirm the first camera before the pilot begins.

Edgentik connects one suitable existing camera feed to an on-site edge computer for one defined visible condition. Camera access, evidence handling and site contacts are confirmed before installation.

Supported pilot configuration

A bounded first deployment.

01

Existing camera

A suitable fixed IP camera with an accessible RTSP stream.

02

On-site processing

An Edgentik edge computer processes the selected camera feed on site.

03

Selected evidence

Only relevant event data and selected clips are available for review.

04

Focused scope

One camera, one area and one defined condition for the initial pilot.

Camera compatibility

Start with a stable, usable view.

Edgentik connects to a suitable fixed IP camera through an accessible RTSP stream. Camera suitability depends on the view, not only the camera brand.

The selected view must make the people, equipment, boundary or PPE condition clear enough to measure consistently during the agreed measurement period.

On-site deployment

The existing camera system stays in place.

Edgentik provides and manages the edge computer used for the pilot. It connects to the selected camera feed and processes video on site.

The edge computer does not replace the customer’s cameras or recording system. Before installation, Edgentik and the site confirm where the device will be located, how it will connect and who to contact if support is needed.

Data movement

Continuous video is processed on site.

The selected camera feed is processed by the edge computer. Continuous source video stays on site. Relevant event data and selected evidence clips can move into the Edgentik application for review, pattern analysis and reporting.

Edgentik and the site agree on what evidence may be transferred before connection.

Network requirements

Confirm connectivity before installation.

The site provides access to the selected camera stream, power for the edge computer and outbound network connectivity for selected evidence, system health and access to the Edgentik application.

Edgentik confirms the required network destinations, protocols, firewall settings and expected bandwidth with the site’s technical contact before installation.

Capacity and performance

Support the configuration the pilot actually needs.

The initial pilot covers one camera, one area, one defined condition and one agreed measurement period. It establishes a baseline and supports a comparable recheck period after the site implements a control.

Additional cameras, areas or conditions are scoped after the first configuration has been evaluated. The Technical Fit review confirms the configuration Edgentik is prepared to support for the pilot.

Pilot readiness checklist

Can this camera support a useful measurement?

A representative view can usually answer the first suitability questions.

A fixed camera covers the target area
People or equipment are visually distinguishable
The relevant activity occurs often enough to measure
The camera timestamp is reliable
The view remains reasonably stable
The site can provide the required stream or footage
Power and network access are available
The site can nominate an operational owner and technical contact

Not sure whether a camera is suitable?

Edgentik can review one representative view before pilot scope is finalized.
